For better health, eat five a day the color way. Every day eat five or more blue/purple, green, white, yellow/orange and red fruits and vegetables. From apples to zucchini, from green beans and red cabbage to blackberries and white corn; from squash and tomatoes to cucumbers and potatoes, Central City Market has fresh produce, great prices and a convenient location just behind the Central City Market building at 555 West 14th Street in West Huntington.

Our Farmers' Market got its start with the Tailgate Farmers' Market in 1979. A group of farmers and businessmen, along with the West Virginia University Extension Service, gathered to discuss the possibility of organizing a Farmers' market. The market was first located at the Department of Human Services property on Route 10 just south of Huntington. After a couple of years, the Farmers' market moved its location to Ninth Street and Third Avenue where it remained until 1997. Then, in 1998, the Cabell County Tailgate Farmers' Market moved here. Thus the Central City Market is conveniently located just off of the 17th Street West interchange of I-64 on West 14th Street in West Huntington. Remember, we are located just behind the Central City Market building, pictured below.

As a part of the Central City Market, Floyd's Fruits & Flowers sells some items that aren't yet locally grown, for example peaches, melons and tomatoes. As needed, Floyd's brings in produce from nearby neighboring states, such as the Carolinas, Northern Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. As the season progresses, Floyd's sells more locally grown produce, including peaches from their own peach orchards. You just must try their peaches; they are juicy, sweet, and absolutely mouth watering delicious. "Now that tastes like a peach!" Floyd's Fruits & Flowers is open Monday through Saturday.
